Erik was the Norwegian widower of Trine and father of Hanne who encountered the Solitract in 2018.
After his wife died, he quit his job and moved with Hanne from their flat in Oslo to a rural cottage. He encountered the Solitract plane through a mirror in his cottage, where the Solitract had taken the form of his late wife.
He left Hanne in N-Space for four days before the Thirteenth Doctor, Graham O'Brien and Yasmin Khan reached him and the Solitract.
Erik refused to believe that the Solitract was not Trine and was only expelled from the Solitract plane after the Doctor convinced the Solitract that she was more important than Erik in achieving its ambition to return to N-Space.
After returning to N-Space, he resolved to move back to Oslo with Hanne. (TV: It Takes You Away)
