You are exploring the Discontinuity Index, a place where any details or rumours about unreleased stories are forbidden.
Please discuss only those whole stories which have already been released, and obey our spoiler policy.

This page is for discussing the ways in which Rosa doesn't fit well with other DWU narratives. You can also talk about the plot holes that render its own, internal narrative confusing.

Remember, this is a forum, so civil discussion is encouraged. However, please do not sign your posts. Also, keep all posts about the same continuity error under the same bullet point. You can add a new point by typing:

* This is point one.
::This is a counter-argument to point one.

... and so on.
  • The Doctor's TARDIS has a perception filter that means people "walk right past it" as the Ninth Doctor once said and many do. Yet, Krasko breaks through the filter despite not even knowing the TARDIS was in the area, thereby was not looking for it (a key component to breaking the filter's hold on passerbys) so: How did he notice the TARDIS?
Krasko's case, as stated by the Dcotor, had a perception filter. It is probable that Krasko is able to view objects through the filter somehow. Furthermore, he knew what TARDISes were, meanign he would most likely be aware of the filter, because of his case.
The Ninth Doctor didn't state that the TARDIS had a perception filter. He was talking about how people just ignore it.
He didn't outright, no, but the Tenth Doctor does in The Sound of Drums; it's the whole reason the TARDIS keys work to 'hide' him, Martha and Jack in that episode and the next. Regardless, the question has been answered here.
Krasko wasn't just a passerby, he was looking for something after seeing the Doctor. A perception filter doesn't make it invisible.
  • In (TVOxygen, set in the 24th Century, Dah-renn was confuse as to why a black person would be on the receiving end of racism. Here, Krasko, from the 79th Century, derogatorily calls Ryan “your kind”.
Racism could've come back, they could be from different places with different attitudes to race, many explanations.
Agreed - just because it's supposedly stopped in one part of the universe doesn't mean everywhere stops being racist. Plus, there's always the chance it comes back.
A lot of people believe racism doesn't exist, or refuse to accept racism. It's possible that racism was still common in the 24th Century, but Dah-renn didn't believe it. It's also possible that racism isn't super common in the future, but still exists. Krasko is one person. He may be the only racist in the 79th Century. Also, racism varies from country to country. Someone from somewhere black people aren't oppressed wouldn't think of black people as oppressed, even if they are elsewhere.
Of course Dah-reen believed in racism, it is heavily implied that HE is usually at the recieving end of it, blue racism, blueism. While there are idiots and new places/races to explore, there will always unfortunately be racism and prejudices.
  • Children of Earth Day 5 shows Vortex Manipulators are able to withstand explosions capable of destroying the human wearing it, as well as the surrounding area. How come the Doctor could just stamp on the one in this episode to destroy it?
That was Jack's manipulator. His could have been a special edition of it, given he was a Time Agent. Also, Krasko stole his so it might have a cheap model. Further, an explosion and a stamp are not the same thing.
  • Why was it vital that James Blake was the driver of the bus when Rosa protested? Surely the driver they had to replace him would have taken the same actions that Blake would have?
Yes but history records that it was Blake who had her arrested, not another driver.
Therefore, to maintain the timeline, they had to ensure Blake was the one to arrest her.
Therefore, even back in Alabama in the 50's some people were more easy going and sympathetic. A different driver might have let her off with a warning, or brushed the whole matter aside, thus changing history.
