Kaliratha were a species of four-dimensional beings. They had four arms and could channel their four-dimensional powers through special totem-like items such as swords. Using them, they could slice through the fabric of time and space. Members of the Kaliratha often presented themselves as deities in order to feed upon the life-forces of their followers.

After the Hyperion War, Kaliratha were deemed one of the malevolent species and were wiped or incarcerated by the Alliance of Races.

One Kaliratha, Kali, came to Earth and, before being destroyed by the Alliance of Races, was worshipped as the Hindu goddess of death and destruction.

The former human versions tend to become swallow-witted when they become agitated; since they thought Tiger Maratha was hiding the fourth sword and killed him as a result. (COMIC: The Swords of Kali)
