The Royal Television Society Awards are given out annually by the Royal Television Society (or RTS). The Society is a British-based educational charity for the analysis and discussion of all forms of television. It is the oldest of its kind in the world. The awards are given in 6 categories:

  • Craft & Design Awards
  • Innovation Awards
  • Programme Awards
  • Television Journalism Awards
  • Educational Television Awards
  • Student Television Awards

Several people and organisations associated with Doctor Who and its spin-offs have won or been nominated for RTS awards, including Steven Moffat, Catherine Tate, Barbara Kidd, Peter Wragg, Murray Gold and The Mill.
