Mary Fitzgerald was looked after by the Seventh Doctor, during the Battle of Drogheda. She was pregnant and the Doctor promised her husband Kieran Fitzgerald that he'd take care of her in the event of his death. She told him about her life and beliefs. After Kieran died, the Doctor and Ace took her to Wexford in the TARDIS to be cared for by her brother-in-law James Fitzgerald. When Oliver Cromwell attacked Wexford, she went into labour and asked the Doctor to deliver her baby. She was shot by Cromwell, but the Doctor managed to save her. (AUDIO: The Settling)
