Krell was a worker at the spaceport in the Urbinian capital city of Kiria.
In an alternate timeline, Krell worked alongside Steven Taylor when the First Doctor's TARDIS became stranded on the planet. The pair drummed up a friendship.
Immediately prior to the Harvest of Urbinia, Krell noticed the neighbouring planet Baralda had totally disappeared from all manifests while a fleet of spaceships travelled towards Urbinia. When the Daleks began their invasion, Krell and Steven were made responsible for settling the civilians into any available starship for evacuation.
When three Silver Daleks forced their way into the hangar bay, they were destroyed in an ambush set by Zoe Heriot, using volatile phason pods to ignite spilled fuel. However, in their last moments, they fired randomly through the smoke. One of the stray shots hit Krell, killing him.
The Second Doctor later averted the timeline by preventing the initial TARDIS collision which created it. (AUDIO: Daughter of the Gods)
