Tempelhof Airport was the main airport in the German capital city of Berlin.
On 25 April 1945, near the end of the Second World War, the Red Army captured the airport during their advance on the city. From there, they entered the Zitadelle, the city's inner ring, and began hunting for Adolf Hitler and the rest of the Nazi leadership. (PROSE: The Shadow in the Glass)
