The Snipes were a species the Doctor faced on several occasions, one of them during a race between the first six incarnations of the Doctor. (NOTVALID: The Universe Marathon)
"Zero, zero, stop" was referred to as "Snipe time" when marked on a clock. Accordingly, on that time of the day, a Snipe once destroyed the television set of Baby Ucyl just as Doctor Who was about to come on, causing the baby to cry. (NOTVALID: Are You Observant?) The Sixth Doctor was eventually able to add them to the list of alien monsters and evildoers whom he had definitively defeated. (NOTVALID: The Final Script)
Behind the scenes[[edit] | [edit source]]
- A footnote in The Universe Marathon (the first of the three features in The Doctor Who Fun Book to mention — but never depict — the Snipes) suggests that the Snipes come from Season 33 of Doctor Who. Of course Season 33 had yet to even enter planning stages in 1987 when the Fun Book was released, and when Series 7 of Doctor Who (which some sources refer to as Season 33 if one continues the numbering from Survival to Rose while skipping The TV Movie) was eventually released in the 2010's, it contained no Snipes whatsoever.
