The Doctor, under attack by "murderous mistletoe". (PROSE: The Christmas Inversion)

"Murderous mistletoe" was what Jo Grant dubbed a sprig of mistletoe that accompanied a Roboform Christmas tree which was placed at 48 Bucknall House on Christmas Eve 2006. (TV: The Christmas Invasion [+]Loading...["The Christmas Invasion (TV story)"]) It was found by Mike Yates on Christmas Day, who pointed out its blue berries to Jo. When the sprig was taken by the Third Doctor, the mistletoe became animate and attacked him with tendrils, vines and leafy stems. As the Doctor quickly realised, the mistletoe sought to take his nutrients, potentially killing him in the process. However, at the Doctor's urging, Jackie Tyler provided an alternative food source in the form of a Christmas pudding and a bottleful of brandy, which successfully distracted the mistletoe.
