The Ninth Sontaran Battle Group, also called the Ninth Sontaran Attack Group or just Ninth Group, was one of several Sontaran battle forces fighting the Rutan Host in their endless war.

Group Marshal Stike commanded the Group, accompanied by his subordinate, Major Varl, while it was engaged with the Rutans in the Madillon Cluster.

The two were involved in an operation to give Sontarans the capability of time travel to aid in the war, attacking Space Station Camera before going to Seville with Joinson Dastari to perfect the Kartz-Reimer module, a crude prototype space-time vessel. To this end, the two Sontarans had captured the second incarnation of the Doctor and kept him in the cellar of a mansion to find about the Doctor's Rassilon Imprimatur and enable the Kartz-Reimer module to work through extracted symbiotic nuclei. However, this attempt was foiled by two Doctors (his second and sixth incarnations), Dastari and Chessene of the Franzine Grig. (TV: The Two Doctors)

The Group may have been related to or the same as the Ninth Sontaran Battle Fleet. (AUDIO: The Sontaran Ordeal, The Bekdel Test)
