List of appearances[[edit source]]

Agreed. Strangely enough, I thought there was an edit to the list of appearances recently. But now I cannot find the page anymore. Amorkuz 23:43, November 28, 2016 (UTC)

There's no deletion log for "Osirans - list of appearances". Is there maybe an alternate spelling? I browsed through a couple of the "appearance" categories but didn't find anything. Shambala108 23:49, November 28, 2016 (UTC)
I'm starting to suspect that there is an easier explanation: that I'm simply misremembering things. On the other hand, I got an idea for this edit after seeing another edit.
Okay, I figured this out. Sorry for my memory holes. There was an edit by 42zedraak to the list of appearances in the infobox. I noticed that the cameo in The Singer Not the Song needs to be added and made a mental note, but apparently failed to remember that it was originally an in-page list of appearances. Once again, sorry for the confusion. Amorkuz 00:01, November 29, 2016 (UTC)
Hah, you think your memory problems are bad. I'm constantly coming across policy points that are mentioned in forums or user talk pages or article talk pages, and then when I need to quote them, I have no memory of where I first saw them. Shambala108 00:07, November 29, 2016 (UTC)

So, DENCH-and-PALMER, would you like to do the honours (it was your idea after all), or should I make the list of appearances page? Amorkuz 23:19, November 29, 2016 (UTC)

"Increase a human's lifespan"[[edit source]]

Removing this clause, originally cited to Pyramids of Mars, as it seems to be somewhat jumbled.

Other Osiran technology included... the ability to increase a human's lifespan by thousands of years,

And if I'm not mistaken is apparently referring to this Sutekh quote, from part four.

"I can, if I choose, keep you alive for centuries, racked by the most excruciating pain. Since your interference has condemned me forever to remain a prisoner in the Eye of Horus, it would be a fitting end. You would make an amusing diversion."

Problem is, aside from centuries and thousands of years not automatically meaning the same thing, he says this to a Time Lord (not a human), who gives his age as 750 in the same serial, and concurs with Sarah Jane that this is middle aged for him. And assuming the Twelfth Doctor's figure of "over 2000" in series 8-10 is accurate, the Fourth Doctor normally lives for at least 1300 years beyond this point in his life. Hell, in theory Sutekh's punishment could be something similar to the confession dial torture chamber in Heaven Sent, which is an even longer time span. -- Tybort (talk page) 12:33, August 5, 2017 (UTC)

Also, if it is meant to refer to this quote, it could just as easily be a biological psychic ability like the Silurians' red eye rather than "technology". -- Tybort (talk page) 13:42, August 5, 2017 (UTC)
The second point is well-taken, but not the first: if I'm not mistaken, Sutekh makes this threat to the Doctor when demanding that the Doctor identify himself to him; he does not yet know he is talking to a fellow nigh-immortal. --Scrooge MacDuck 00:25, May 19, 2020 (UTC)
Oh, and he repeats the threat to Cindy Wu in Old Girl, so there's that. --Scrooge MacDuck 21:38, May 19, 2020 (UTC)
