Nigel Betts (born 5 October 1963[1]) played Mr Armitage in the Doctor Who television stories Into the Dalek, The Caretaker and in a voiceover in Dark Water. He returned to the role of the character for the Class stories For Tonight We Might Die and The Coach with the Dragon Tattoo. He also provided the voice of Glynn Lewis in the Torchwood audio Corpse Day.

He has had roles on other series such as As Time Goes By, alongside Geoffrey Palmer and Philip Bretherton, New Tricks alongside James Bolam, A Touch of Frost, The Bill as well as You, Me and Them alongside Eve Myles, Anthony Head and Lindsay Duncan, and for playing the burnt-faced explosives expert Major Septimus Pyecroft in Sharpe's Mission, alongside Hugh Fraser.
