Adamnan

Adamnan was a 6th century historian who wrote about Saint Columba's encounter was a monster at Loch Ness in 565. He described it as "the driving away of a certain water monster by virtue of prayer of the holy man". The incident was later considered the first recorded sighting of the Loch Ness Monster. Adamnan later became the Abbot of Iona. This encounter was later included in the book The Secret Lives of Monsters. (PROSE: The Secret Lives of Monsters)
