Commander Vrag was a Sontaran.
Vrag was in charge of a commando unit sent to the Eye of Orion. Under his command, the unit had been decorated with the Sontaran Medal of Pacification. While on the Eye, he captured the Fifth and Eighth Doctors as well as Turlough and Tegan. He decided to capture the Doctor's TARDIS for himself as Sontaran technology was severely limited. However, on his command, one of his troops awoke a Raston Warrior Robot that slew the entire unit. Severely wounded, Vrag managed to pull the robot's head out. Before he died, he thanked the Doctor for giving him the chance for a warrior's death. He died smiling, a rare feat for a Sontaran. (PROSE: The Eight Doctors)
