Holly Kidd worked at a radio telescope on the moors of Crook Marsham. A few years before she worked there, she fell in love with a man called James. James was killed in an accident in 1962. She later fell in love with Vijay Degun, a man who had immigrated from Asia. In December 1968, Holly was killed by the Sentience when it came back in the form of her deceased lover, James.
