HMS Belfast was a Royal Navy Town-class light cruiser turned museum ship.
Location[[edit]]
By the late 2010s, it appeared to have been moored in a permanent location, evidenced by the fact that it appeared on a map of London. At this time, it was located in the River Thames, between the City of London to the north bank, (TV: The Lie of the Land) and the London Borough of Southwark to the south.[1] It was located on the stretch of Thames between London Bridge and Tower Bridge. (TV: The Lie of the Land)
History[[edit]]
The ship was located in the vicinity of Tower Bridge as early as 1984. (TV: Resurrection of the Daleks)
The Eleventh Doctor flew over HMS Belfast on 1 January 2005. (TV: The Eleventh Hour)
HMS Belfast appeared on a map of London used during the Monk invasion of the late 2010s. (TV: The Lie of the Land)
On 29 January 2025, a holographic horse appeared just outside the HMS Belfast to advertise the Grand National. (AUDIO: Energy of the Daleks)
Alternate realities[[edit]]
A ship which resembled HMS Belfast from N-Space existed in Pete's World. It was in a similar location to its N-Space counterpart. (TV: Rise of the Cybermen)
Behind the scenes[[edit]]
Following service that included World War II and the Korean War, HMS Belfast was opened as a museum ship in her current real-life location (also her in-universe location) in the Pool of London on Trafalgar Day (21 October) 1971. The Imperial War Museum currently operates her as a branch after the HMS Belfast Trust merged with the museum in 1978. She is the second British ship to be saved and preserved for the nation and the first since HMS Victory.

Footnotes[[edit]]
- ↑ The map in The Lie of the Land places the north bank in the City of London. When viewed in conjunction with the map of London boroughs seen in Revenge of the Slitheen, this would definitively place the south bank in Southwark.
