The Book Monsters were made up entirely of books. They were known to "sleep", and were capable of living for several hundred years. They were hungry creatures that preferred to eat stories to people. The Eleventh Doctor and Amy Pond encountered them when the Doctor returned some long overdue books and left them inspired to make up their own stories about Sky-Sheep and Space-Wolves.
