The Dalek invasion of Vega VI occurred centuries after the 36th century and began the Second Great Dalek Occupation, the first hint of which was the crash of the SD Victorious into the south sectors of Vega City and the destruction of the planet's satellites.

The Daleks announced that the Vega System had become part of the Dalek Empire and destroyed the planet's cities when the Vegans fought back, scorching the land and blocking out the suns with metallic dust. The survivors were left on the radioactive plains until they were without hope, whereupon the Daleks exterminated the weak and enslaved the strong to mine veganite. (AUDIO: Invasion of the Daleks) Amongst those who died were Siryo (PROSE: Kalendorf) and, Alby Brook presumed, Susan Mendes's mother and father.

Some managed to escape in spacecrafts, such as Alby and Gordon Pellan, both of whom escaped on the Aquitania. (AUDIO: Invasion of the Daleks)
