Ernst Tanlee was an Earth Alliance security operative prior to the Dalek invasion of Mutter's Spiral.

Tanlee sent Alby Brook to locate Kalendorf in the hopes of forming an alliance with Velyshaa. After six months without success, Tanlee contacted Alby on the Aquitania and gave him a new mission in the Lopra system, telling him to meet with Espeelius. (AUDIO: Invasion of the Daleks)
Afraid that Susan Mendes might tell the Daleks about Project Infinity, Tanlee and Agnes Landen planned to have her assassinated. (AUDIO: The Fearless Part 1) However, they were unsuccessful (AUDIO: The Fearless: Part 4) and, after killing the advanced Roboman Gordon Pellan, Tanlee ordered Alby to find Suz and, if necessary, kill her.
Following the President of Earth's surrender to the Daleks, Tanlee ordered Espeelius to begin the final phase of Project Infinity and travelled to Carson's Planet to meet Alby. He was captured by a Dalek patrol (AUDIO: "Death to the Daleks!") and made into an advanced Roboman, travelling to Lopra Minor to oversee Project Infinity and later being killed by the Alliance Daleks.
