Maze Theory was a British video game developer and publisher located in London. It was founded in September 2018.[1] In November 2019, Playstack published their first major project, Doctor Who: The Edge of Time.[2]

On 27 April 2020, BBC Studios announced that Maze Theory would be involved in the multi-platform story Time Lord Victorious.[3] This manifested as an update to The Edge of Time that included a variety of small Time Lord Victorious tie-ins released on 16 November 2020.[4][5]

On 19 March 2021, Maze Theory published their second Doctor Who game, Doctor Who: The Lonely Assassins, developed by Kaigan Games.[6]

On 14 October 2021, they published a sequel to their first game titled Doctor Who: The Edge of Reality.
