John Hayes directed the 50th anniversary minisode, The Night of the Doctor. He was the second director since Geoffrey Sax in 1996 to work on an Eighth Doctor television story, and holds the distinction of also directing Paul McGann's regeneration story.
Hayes also directed The Bells of Saint John: A Prequel although his name did not appear on screen.[1]
Hayes worked for several years as a second unit director for HBO on some of their most high profile shows such as Game of Thrones and Vikings. He has also directed several adverts for Irish television.
