"Tiktaalik (Dr. Who's Time Tales)" is a title based upon conjecture.

Check the behind the scenes section, the revision history and discussion page for additional comments on this article's title.

A "strange reptile" was the first creature on Earth to climb out of the marshes to adopt a terrestrial lifestyle, existing at the so-called "dawn of time".

A duo of human scientists experimenting with time travel technology once sent a photo-recorder back in time to film the events. However, their camera inadvertently knocked the animal back into the water, temporarily altering the course of history and causing the evolution of life on Earth to take a completely different path (such that the dominant intelligent lifeforms of the 20th century were now talking salamanders). The Fourth Doctor was familiar with this incident, relating it as a time tale, serving as a warning to those who would "meddle with time". (COMIC: Dr. Who's Time Tales)
