As Mr Minus turned his attention to [[Clara Oswald]] and attempted to have her auctioned off, the Doctor devised a plan to overload the Mainframe's systems by selling [[The Doctor's TARDIS|the TARDIS]] and causing a bidding storm. The plan succeeded and in the resulting power shortage Clara found an opportunity to free the Kindred of Fel allowing them to use their telepathic powers to make the bidders feel their pain. Now without his connection to the Mainframe, Mr Minus lost his disguise within the database and was exposed as being a member of the Kindred of Fel himself. An interview in ''[[The Blood of Azrael (graphic novel)|The Blood of Azrael graphic novel]]'' saw writer [[Scott Gray]] speaking about the character. Mr Minus was originally intended to have been an [[android]] enforcer of the [[Obsidian Mainframe]], while the addition to have him be revealed as one of the [[Kindred of Fel]] came later in production as it strengthened the character and saw him striving to gain independence which had become a recurring theme for DWM villains. He also stated that; "Mr Minus was based on a Victorian carnival barker, complete with a Jimmy Edwards-style handlebar moustache".

He attempted to auction off five members of the Kindred of Fel - highly desired telepaths - only to be duped by the Eleventh Doctor's fake bid. Upon realising that the Doctor didn't intend to pay Mr Minus erased him from the Mainframe, the Doctor was forced to undergo a data regeneration, leaving him weakened.
