Golrandonvar was the home planet of the Thara. Humans, led by Director Sprawn, once attempted to colonise Golrandonvar.

In this colonisation attempt, they tried to terraform the planet, which would have killed the Thara in the process. The humans were stopped by the Eleventh Doctor, who helped the Thara to overthrow them, before stranding the colonists on one of their Heligan Structures. (PROSE: The Roots of Evil)
