Instructions for {{Store variant data}}
{{Store variant data}} is a template intended to be used with {{Cite source}}, specifically the variant citing feature. To use it, place the following either directly below the infobox or in a section specifically about the variant:
{{Store variant data|variant=name of the variant|series=series that the variant is part of|anthology=anthology that the series is part of|publisher=publisher of the variant|network=television network of the variant|release year=year of the variant's release}}
All parameters other than |variant= are optional.

For example, to define variant information for the 1995 special edition of The Five Doctors, you'd type the following:

{{Store variant data|variant=special edition|release date=1995}}

The name provided to the |variant= parameter is then used when citing this variant. Currently, the only variant data collected by this template is the release year. More may be added in future.

Note that this template produces no visible output. To check it is functioning, you can check the "facts" box at the bottom of the page. Look for the "story info" row. If 2 or more story infos are listed, one of which starts with the variant name you defined, the template is likely working as intended.

It is possible to use this template as many times as required to define multiple variants for the same page.
