Adam James (born 9 September 1972[1]) played McMillan in the Doctor Who television story Planet of the Dead.

Personal life[[edit] | [edit source]]

His godfather was Jon Pertwee, who played the Third Doctor, and his mother Polly James appeared in the 1984 Doctor Who story The Awakening. James is also one of David Tennant's best friends. They met while playing half brothers in a production of King Lear in 1999.

Career[[edit] | [edit source]]

In 2011, he co-starred as Don Pedro in the West End production of Much Ado About Nothing, which David Tennant and Catherine Tate starred in and executive produced.

In 2012 they acted together again, in the BBC radio plays Twelfth Night (in which Tennant played Malvolio, and James played Sir Andrew Aguecheek) and Romeo and Juliet (in which Tennant played Prince Escalus, and James played Benvolio).
