Latest revision as of 15:50, 22 September 2024

This topic might have a better name.

We're clearly covering a single segment of a BP episode. So the best title is probably Blue Peter segment (2005 TV story) or Dalek Compost perhaps? As per the external link or Untitled (BP TV story)

Talk about it here.

This subject is not a valid source for writing our in-universe articles, and may only be referenced in behind the scenes sections or other invalid-tagged articles.

A Blue Peter segment which aired on the 4 April 2005 featured Christopher Eccleston in-character as the Ninth Doctor.

It it notable for being the only on-screen appearance of Eccleston in the role outside of Series 1 and general promotional material. In total, it was the Ninth Doctor's fourth appearance on TV, following TV: The Trip of a Lifetime, Rose and The End of the World. It was also the first televised story to feature the Doctor facing a Dalek and was potentially the final televised performance Eccleston filmed for the role, as he had previously wrapped production on TV: Bad Wolf/The Parting of the Ways on 5 March 2005.[1]

Story notes[[edit] | [edit source]]

The 2022 Ninth Doctor Collector Set by Character Options is commonly thought to be inspired by this segment.
  • In 2022, Character Options released a Ninth Doctor Collector Set featuring a new figure of the Ninth Doctor in blue jeans. The figure was officially based on an alternate cover of the first ongoing issue of the Doctor Who: The Ninth Doctor comic series. However, said cover did not feature the Doctor in blue jeans, causing common speculation that the figure was actually inspired by the 2005 Blue Peter cameo.
