Given a new caption/title as "''Breaking Isolation''", it functioned as a wordless cartoon with a new narrative context: the title alluded to the response to the COVID-19 epidemic, namely a duty for populations to [[self-isolation|self-isolate]] to prevent spread of the virus. Breaking Isolation[[edit] | [edit source]]

On 2 April 2020, Russell T Davies repurposed his illustration for Games on Instagram.

Given a new caption/title as "Breaking Isolation", it functioned as a wordless cartoon with a new narrative context: the title alluded to the response to the COVID-19 epidemic, namely a duty for populations to self-isolate to prevent spread of the virus. Thus, the implication was that Dalek creatures, having screwed off the top sections of their casings to joyously play ball, were doing the Dalek equivalent of breaking self-isolation guidelines for 2020 humans.

However, there is no evidence that the satirical cartoon "Breaking Isolation" was approved by the BBC, even if the repurposed art had originally been drawn in a licensed context. Thus, Breaking Isolation itself is not considered a valid story on this Wiki despite its pedigree.
