Christopher Ryan (born 25 January 1950[1]) appeared in several Doctor Who television stories: as Lord Kiv in The Trial of a Time Lord (namely Mindwarp), General Staal in The Sontaran Stratagem/The Poison Sky and Commander Stark in The Pandorica Opens.

He also voiced several characters in various Big Finish Doctor Who audio stories and spin-offs.

A promotional image of him as General Staal was used to depict Commander Halke in the Doctor Who story The God Complex and Major Stenx on the cover of the New Series Adventures novel The Sontaran Games. Archive imagery of Ryan was also used to depict a Sontaran resident of the trap street in Face the Raven.
