Solana Mercurio was the PA of Ood Operations in 4126 and led a tour for businesspersons that wished to see the Ood.
After the Tenth Doctor and Donna Noble claimed to represent a company called the "Noble Corporation", Solana invited them on a tour group with her and gave a brief sales pitch of what the Ood did. Later that day, she scanned the Doctor and Donna, only to find that the Noble Corporation did not actually exist. She told her boss, Klineman Halpen, and was ordered to find them without alerting the representatives of the other companies. When the Ood rebelled, she followed the Doctor and Donna outside.
The Doctor gave her a chance to help make things right, which she considered for a moment, before calling for guards to capture them. Later, she tried to get to safety from a group of Ood after ordering the guards to kill them; but while the guards were shooting the group, a single surviving Ood killed Solana with the energy from its translation sphere. Personality[[edit] | [edit source]]
Solana, like most humans of the 42nd century, saw the Ood as nothing more than slaves and turned a blind eye to their harsh treatment. She was more than capable of putting on a welcoming and pleasant attitude when accompanying her company’s clients. She was very obedient and always tried to carry out Halpen’s orders to the letter.
While not sadistic towards the Ood in the same way as Halpen or Kess, Solana proved to, instead, be very cowardly; selfishly leaving the guards and the clients to die at the hands of the Ood to save her own life, though she was eventually murdered by an Ood. (TV: Planet of the Ood)
