Meglos was the seventeenth The Blogs of Doom short story, published in 2019 in Doctor Who Magazine 535. Like other features in the series, it narrated events in the life of a minor Doctor Who TV character before and after their involvement in the Doctor's life.

In this case, the subject of writer Jonathan Morris's attention was Meglos from Meglos.

Summary[[edit] | [edit source]]

Meglos explains to Earthlings what happened after being defeated by the Fourth Doctor.

Characters[[edit] | [edit source]]

Worldbuilding[[edit] | [edit source]]

  • "Gronda gronda" is a Zolfa-Thuran expression.
  • Meglos considers himself the Doctor's greatest enemy, as the Daleks and the Master have been defeated multiple times and Meglos has only been defeated once.

Notes[[edit] | [edit source]]

  • The story makes light of several aspects of the serial that went unexplained, with Meglos informing the reader that the answers are too advanced for them to understand.

Continuity[[edit] | [edit source]]

  • Meglos explains that he is still alive, Zolfa-Thura was not destroyed, that the Tigellans died a few weeks later, and that the Gaztaks are dead in his bunker. (TV: Meglos)
