The Swiftsure was a three-mast barque, captained by Frederick McIntyre. On 23 October 1829, the ship rescued the survivors of the Mermaid. A few days later, on 28 October, the Swiftsure hit rocks and broke up. The entire crew, as well as the crew and passengers of the Mermaid, survived and were rescued by the Governor Ready later that day. (PROSE: Of the Mermaid and Jupiter)
