The effect of accelerating time so rapidly, is to give off enormous heat that ages to death and burns anything in its immediate range. Fortunately the wave is soon dispersed. A fluctuating chronon wave was encapsulated in a briefcase and was planted on Vyga 3 by the [[Black Guardian]] in an attempt to stop the Doctor in his quest to recover the [[Key to Time]]. The wave device was powerful enough to register with the tracer device given to the Doctor in order to locate the various segments.

* The title is slightly misleading, as it occurs after the recovery of the first segment of the [[Key to Time]] (judging by Romana's outfit.Technically it could be called not the second segment, which isn't as catchy!
