Would it be right if the fact that Klade is another anagram for Dalek (and maybe) Kaled? Sclera1 12:50, December 18, 2010 (UTC)

Discussion regarding Destination Skaro.[[edit source]]

Now I edited this page when it came up with the mention that there was an edit conflict after I tried to fix some formatting issues. So I resolved the conflict with the button. Now I did not want an edit war. So I after resolving it I checked the edit history and saw the user:Najawin had reverted the edit based on the subtitles. However subtitles have been incorrect especially considering that children in need is live and YouTube subtitles are often inaccurate (in my experience at any rate). I believe that it is a note worth inclusion to this page. And should at the very least be mentioned in the behind the scenes section. Anastasia Cousins 21:40, 17 November 2023 (UTC)

Also here is the poorly formatted text I added The word Klade was originally suggested as a name for what would eventually become know as the Dalek by Castavillianduring the design process. Davros did not like this name. (TV:Destination: Skaro (TV story))

These are not youtube auto-generated subtitles. They contain things like "[Tardis vworping]". And "klaed" isn't a word, if anything it would be "clade". These were hand placed by someone. Our official policy is that we use spellings given to us by subtitles. Klades were not mentioned. "Klaed" was the name floated. Najawin 21:44, 17 November 2023 (UTC)
at the very least could it be added to the behind the scenes section as they sound exactly the same. Anastasia Cousins 21:49, 17 November 2023 (UTC)
I've no objection to a suitably written BTS note. There's one at Destination: Skaro (TV story) that I modified. I didn't think it would quite fit on this page, but if others disagree something similar seems fine to me. Najawin 21:51, 17 November 2023 (UTC)
a secondary proposition which is unlikely for you to agree with could this be inserted in to the main topic

To complicate matters, the BBC iPlayer subtitles give it as "Klade". Bongo50 22:04, 17 November 2023 (UTC)

Oh, yeah, iPlayer wins. But we should note the discrepancy in the BTS. Najawin 22:25, 17 November 2023 (UTC)

a worthwhile and prompt discussion I have re added my addition with some formatting corrected. Anastasia Cousins 22:32, 17 November 2023 (UTC)
The novelisation also uses the "Klade" spelling and has some subtle nudging about its significance. 20:13, 10 September 2024 (UTC)
"subtle nudging" - could you elaborate what this looks like? The preceding unsigned comment was added by WarDocFan12 (talk • contribs) 14:57, 11 September 2024‎.
Castavillian particularly likes the name and uses the term "Not-a-Klade" until the Fourteenth Doctor uses "Dalek"; I personally got the impression Castavillian might have pushed for Klade otherwise, and the name is second place to Dalek. Just the emphasis on it feels like the writer knew what he was doing. 15:30, 11 September 2024 (UTC)
