Olly Alexander is an English actor who rose to prominence for his critically-acclaimed role in Russell T Davies' 2021 drama series, It's a Sin, for which he was an interview subject in the documentary, imagine... Russell T Davies: The Doctor and Me.
It was due to this role, as well as the announcement of Davies' return to Doctor Who as showrunner in 2022, that Alexander was a favourite to succeed Jodie Whittaker in the role of the Doctor,[1] before the casting of Ncuti Gatwa was announced.
