Jo Grant thinks she is dead, after she is transported to an alternate Earth due to cosmic dust reacting with the molecular adjuster.

- The Doctor and Jo are returning from Mezlob, a planet whose gravitational pull is twenty-seven times that of Earth.
- After her time on Mezlob, Jo says she feels like she's eaten ten tons of spaghetti.
- The Doctor and Jo had their molecular density increased, using a molecular adjuster, to survive the weight of Mezlob's gravity.
- The TARDIS flies into cosmic dust.
