The Torchwood Encyclopedia, or Torchwood: The Encyclopedia, was a Torchwood reference book released in 2009.

Subject matter[[edit] | [edit source]]

The definitive guide to the hit BBC series including The Children of Earth.

Publisher's summary[[edit] | [edit source]]

Founded by Queen Victoria in 1879, the Torchwood Institute has been defending Great Britain from the hordes for 130 years. Though London's Torchwood One was destroyed during the Battle of Canary Wharf, the small team at Torchwood Three have continued to monitor the space-time Rift that runs through Cardiff, saving the world and battling for the future of the human race.
Now you can discover every fact and figure, explore every crack in time and encounter every creature that Torchwood have dealt with. Included here are details of:

The secret of the Children of Earth
Operatives from Alice Guppy to Gwen Cooper
Extraterrestrial visitors from Arcateenians to Weevils
The lives and deaths of Captain Jack Harkness

... and much more. Illustrated throughout with photos and artwork from all three series, this A-Z provides everything you need to know about Torchwood.

Contents[[edit] | [edit source]]

Notes[[edit] | [edit source]]

  • Lavishly illustrated with several full page pictures, this encyclopaedia follows much the same format as Gary Russell's previous title Doctor Who: The Encyclopedia, which was equally as comprehensive in its coverage of its subject material.
  • The encyclopaedia erroneously states that Toshiko Sato called Ben Taylor, when it was Gwen Cooper who phoned him.

Publication history[[edit] | [edit source]]

  • This hardback only title was priced £14.99 (UK).
