Ella Stanton was a 20th century prostitute who lived in Liverpool.
History[[edit] | [edit source]]
First life[[edit] | [edit source]]
Ella was born in 1905.
On 20 May 1946, Ella was murdered by Thomas Hendron while she was working at Bobby's Gents' Manicure Lounge. Robert Scarratt approached Ella before the murder and got her permission to hide behind a curtain in the room while she was with Hendron; Scarrat attempted to use her death as a scrying-anchor.
On the Brakespeare[[edit] | [edit source]]
Ella was plucked from history at the moment of her death by House Lineacrux and brought to The Brakespeare to be used as a bargaining tool. She was rescued from Dervishage by Nebaioth.
She was later brought back to the Spiral Politic by Philetes using Scarratt's timeship.
Later history[[edit] | [edit source]]
Scarratt was unnerved by the thought that Ella would live in the same afterlife, the City of the Saved, as her murderer. (PROSE: The Brakespeare Voyage [+]Loading...["The Brakespeare Voyage (novel)"])
Behind the scenes[[edit] | [edit source]]
While Ella's last name is usually spelled "Stanton" in The Brakespeare Voyage, it is once rendered "Staunton" in Chapter 3.
