The cooling cells were a part of the Eleventh Doctor's sonic screwdriver, located underneath the easy-grip handle and below the thermal insulation casing. (PROSE: The Visual Dictionary [+]Loading...{"page":"21","1":"The Visual Dictionary (2010 reference book)"}) In a guide about Time Lords, both annotated and improved by the Eleventh Doctor, he wrote in a section about gadgets that if the screwdriver was to be held it should be held by the handle, else risk burning the user's fingers. At some point during the Eleventh Doctor's travels with Clara Oswald, he began annotating and improving a guide about Time Lords.
