The Royal Planetary Society held a dinner in honour of Wilfred Mott's discovery of the star 7432MOTT. The Tenth Doctor and Donna Noble accompanied Wilfred to the event, which was also attended by Netty Goodheart. Arriving at the venue, the Doctor noticed that Wilfred's star was brighter than before, and there were new stars in the sky. The Doctor realized what he was up against and told people at the dinner the "Chaos Bodies" were actually called Mandragora, which was sensed by the entity. (PROSE: Beautiful Chaos [+]Loading...["Beautiful Chaos (novel)"])
The Helix began putting its plans into motion, changing astrological predictions on its websites and preparing to take over the planet. When the Doctor realized a Triple Conjunction which would boost Mandragora's power was happening on Monday, he left the dinner with Donna in a rush. At the Copernicus Array in Essex, Professor Ahab Melville put together images of the Chaos Bodies taken worldwide to reveal a laughing face, whereupon he contacted the Prime Minister and the Doctor. The face became visible to anyone who looked at the sky. (PROSE: Beautiful Chaos [+]Loading...["Beautiful Chaos (novel)"])
Servants of the Mandragora Helix took over the array and took Melville prisoner, causing his assistant Miss Oladini to flee. The Doctor and Donna bribed a cab driver to drop them off at the radio telescope, whereupon they encountered the brainwashed party, who knocked out the Doctor. Donna, fleeing, found Miss Oladini, and the two attempted to escape in a car, but it was destroyed. Believing Miss Oladini to be dead, Donna took a nearby bicycle and hurried back to London alone.
