James MacFarlane was a journalist who shared several adventures with the Eighth Doctor.

Biography[[edit] | [edit source]]

James travelled to Victorian Edinburgh in the 1890s to investigate rumours regarding vampires. He encountered the Eighth Doctor there and they uncovered a den of vampires but found they were innocent. In actuality, a Bowship had been mentally influencing the people of Edinburgh. The Doctor convinced it the war was over, restoring the city. (AUDIO: The Scent of Blood)

Later, James met the Doctor in Cardiff. (AUDIO: The Code of Flesh)
