| "Mr. Saxon" was the arc word for the late part of [[Series 2 (Doctor Who)|series 2]] and all of [[Series 3 (Doctor Who)|series 3]] of ''[[Doctor Who]]'', just like "[[Torchwood Institute|Torchwood]]" and "[[Bad Wolf meme|Bad Wolf]]" had been for the previous series The phrase also featured in [[Torchwood]] series 1, on campaign posters.

| It has been theorised that Mr. Saxon is actually the renegade [[the Master|Master]], hence the episode title "Last of the Time Lords" and why he is to be an enemy.

| The name "Mr. Saxon" might also refer to another Time Lord, other than the Master, that has not been seen since he was first introduced in Season 2's [[The Time Meddler]] and consequently seen in the following season's [[The Daleks' Master Plan]]. The [[Meddling Monk]] was concerned with a plot that involved both [[Harold Godwinson | Harold II]] and [[Saxons | Saxon]] villagers. It may not be a coincidence that the character's full name is "Harold Saxon".
