::I've looked at this again, though the map from the original is very blurry. Studying it against the map from the animation, I can make out (going left along the bottom) Charring Cross, Westminster and St James' Park. I can also see Strand (on Northern line) and Blackfriars are both present, then there's a station written below Strand on the original map which isn't on the animation. That is Temple, which is shown between Charing Cross and Blackfriars on the {{cite source|The Doctor: His Lives and Times|namedpart=London Underground map|page=40}}. I can't see any reference on either map to Embankment, which - as mentioned previously - was a later name for Charing Cross. :: You're totally right here. Charing Cross' page is where this should be notated as that is what the station was back then at time of production - not Embankment, as it would become in the middle of the 1970s - and that is clearly also the case in-universe. I shall move the statement over from this page, and remove the cite-add tag & comment. {{:User:JDPManjoume/sig|subst:#time:H:i, j F Y (UTC)}} 05:23, 17 December 2024 (UTC) | :: You're totally right here. The Web of Fear[[edit source]]
I've not seen the story, but I've read through the transcipts and can't find reference to an Embankment tube station. In the real world (which I know isn't a valid source), Charing Cross - which is itself a station on the Circle line in The Web of Fear - became Embankment in 1979, making it unlikely that an Embankment tube station would appear in a story from 1968. Could somebody please confirm: is Embankment actually the name of a tube station in the story, or is it used as a term use to encompass the lower section of the Circle line - including all stations along the Thames Embankment? 66 Seconds ☎ 14:09, July 5, 2020 (UTC)
- I haven't watched this one in a while, but it looks like User:CzechOut created it based on a map that appeared in the episode. Shambala108 ☎ 15:40, July 5, 2020 (UTC)
