Drake was a male Human who worked for The Department. He was Head of Public Order, but got involved in alien affairs. He had a cybernetic hand and a dragon-headed cane. He seems to have an evil secret agenda and is rather a man of mystery.
Inspector Drake was a 21st century human who worked as Head of Security for the Department.

Profile
Despite his job, Drake frequently infringed upon June Turner's remit as Head of the Alien Activity Section and developed several devices that utilised alien technology with the aim of controlling the population. After failed attempts to capture K9 for his technology, Drake revived Operation Black Hunger as a weapon against those he deemed undesirable and Lomax replaced him with Thorne when June made this known.
Career in The Department
When K9 Mark 2 tracked a Jixen warrior to Dauntless Prison he was detected by a Department Officer, Drake told him to montior it. When K9 passed the exclusion zone Drake ordered him to "Exclude it". (K9TV: Liberation)

Drake requested an update on the recent alien activity from Inspector June Turner, she declined as she was Head of the Alien Activity Section and Drake was the Head of Security, stating she didn't report to him. When Drake asked her about Information-Sharing she replied that it worked on a Need to Know basis, when she felt he needed to know something she'd share it with him. Drake then told her he would do the same. (K9TV: The Korven)

Drake worked for the Department for many years (TV: Black Hunger (TV story)) and became Head of Security, a position which meant he often worked with June Turner, Head of the Alien Activity Section. (TV: The Korven (TV story)) According to Starkey, he committed "horrible, nameless crimes" during his career. Drake decided to create a publicity stunt to boost Public Order, he had a non-explosive bomb attached to the Speed Clutch in the Control Center of a Ferris Wheel. Causing it to accelerate it, this was witnessed by Starkey and K9. Drake and several patrols of CCPCs arrived and he informed them of the situation and if they tried to stop or even slow the wheel the bomb would detonate. K9 and Starkey noticed as more and more camera arrived, Drake's true agenda. They then went to the Control room and K9 destroyed the bomb, stopping the wheel. The relieved crowd then cheered for Starkey and K9. Drake was shocked at the presence of the "Machine" and asked why June didn't inform him of K9 who he considered to be dangerous. When she argued that he could be of benefit to the Department Drake went to LOMAXX, the leader of the Department and asked his view on the matter, he replied that he would consider whose jurisdiction K9 fell under but ordered them in the meantime to keep doing what they are doing. He was then contacted by Ahab, a bounty hunter trying to capture K9 who showed him that he could subdue K9. Ahab and Drake made a deal, Drake uses the Departments CCTV devices across London to find K9 and Ahab captures him so Drake can unlock his secrets. However when Ahab and Drake found K9 he betrayed Drake, neutralised his CCPC guards and took K9 to Gryffen's house himself. (K9TV: The Bounty Hunter)

K9's arrival
Drake then came up with a plan to have full control over the population of London using the alien substance, Cerulium. Chunks of which fell to Earth, he tested this on several Schoolgirls in the Private Acadeny. He had Cerulium Bracelets created which were influenced for the girls to get by an Android posing as a schoolgirl, Melaina. He also had an experimental device called the Inhibitor created. When a lone activist protested against CCPC violence, two CCPCs apprehended her. This angered Jorjie Turner who decided to take action and threw a stone at a CCPC. Drake then shown up as the CCPCs pursued her, Starkey and K9, he then returned to Department HQ. Drake decided to give them some disipline and ordered the CCPCs to use the Inhibitor, which the CCPCs put the Cerulium inside. As Starkey and Jorjie got behind K9, the CCPC fired the Inhibitor however it misfired, sending K9 flying and destroyed the CCPC. Drake then destroyed his Drake cane in anger. Later, when June asked Drake about the Inhibitor, Drake suggested she send Jorjie to Magdalene Academy due to her rebellious behaviour. Jorjie and Vibecka the protestor tried to remain Defiant to ignore Melaina's requests for them to join her study group, but Vibecka fell victim to the Cerulium Bracelet. Jorjie eventually fell victim to it as well when Melaina gave her a bracelet. Meanwhile the team discovered the Cerulium, when Jorjie arrive K9 noticed her weird behaviour and Cerulium Bracelet. K9 managed to blast the Bracelet off without harming her, restoring her to normal. K9 then went to Magdalene and destroyed all the other bracelets, freeing the students. When Drake realised his plan had failed, he deativated Melaina. (K9TV: Sirens of Ceres)
When Drake was alerted to the sighting of an Unidentified Flying Object outside Dauntless Prison, he ordered it to be observed and had it shot down once it entered the Department exclusion zone. The object, K9, was damaged, but Drake did not know what it was that had been shot down (TV: Liberation (TV story)) nor was he aware of K9 for some time.
Drake noticed an increase in alien arrivals and requested an update from June in the hopes of getting an explanation. She refused to provide one given that she did not report to him and said that she worked on a need-to-know basis, meaning she would not tell him anything unless she felt it imperative. He agreed that he would work on the same principle. (TV: The Korven (TV story))
When an Alien entity caused fear and panic throughout London from its hiding place inside an old wardrobe in a junkyard. Drake secured the junkyard with his own private army of CCPCs, interrupting a news interview with two vagrants who trapped Darius in the wardrobe but claimed to save him from the "Huge, black creeping shadow of the dead". When Starkey,Darius,Jorjie and K9 got past the CCPCs and decided to investigate, Drake arrived. They then went to hide in the wardrobe but Darius, however was terrified and refused to go in. When he did he found himself hanging on to a bar for his life due to the bottomless pit below just as he did earlier. When they managed to get him out Drake came and asked them if they saw the alien. As the left Drake shouted at the Wardrobe saying he was not afraid of it, an alien hand then popped at the door and then back in again. The operation was disbanded by June when she was unable to find proof of the entity's existence. When Starkey was arrested by CCPCs when he investigated the wardrobe and found out it was a person's fear which made them see the hole, Drake went to him in his cell. Drake failed to make Starkey fear him, Drake started to show signs of Paranoia and suggested that Starkey was working with the alien. Starkey insisted that its Drake's fear but Drake refused to acknowledge it and ordered the CCPCs to "toss him in the gutter where he belongs". Drake decided to destroy the creature, dropping a bomb into the bottomless pit and destroying the wardrobe with his cybernetic hand. Despite this, the entity seemed to survive the attacks, but vanished soon after. (K9TV: Fear Itself)

As severe storms raged in London, June rang Jorjie (who was staying in Gryffen's house) to check if she was safe. Drake noted how she was lucky to have time for personal calls and when he asked her who she was calling, June suddenly hung up claiming it was electrical inteferance. Surprising Jorjie as that was her "trick". (K9TV: Fall of the House of Gryffen)
In bid to generate publicity for the Department, Drake had a fake bomb attached to the speed clutch of a Ferris wheel and appeared before the news cameras with the CCPC, only for the crowd to turn against him when he failed to act. The scheme was ruined when Starkey and K9 saved the day, after which he claimed that they were dangerous and admonished June for keeping K9 a secret from him given how useful his technology could be. He was approached by Ahab and formed an alliance with him to capture K9, but Ahab betrayed him and took K9 himself. (TV: The Bounty Hunter (TV story))

Targeting K9
Drake later devised yet another scheme, this time targeting K9. He had a duplicate of K9, who he called Orthrus to frame him. When June addressed protesters outraged at the Department's introduction of microchips, they started to throw fruit. Drake then angrily ordered the CCPCs to arrest them. Orthrus then arrived and started shooting the Balloons and Banners, he then shot Drake. As June tended to Drake, he told her K9 had gone mad and that he would be happy to find out why. June then informed Jorjie of what happened, they then went to Gryffen's house. June showed them the recording of K9 shooting Drake, she suggested K9 hand himself in to make it better for himself. Starkey refused, when K9 accessed his memory he revealed he erased his alarm, conviently taking out half an hour of memory. June told Drake (who made a "speedy" recovery) of how she tried to negociate a peaceful solution which would stop a potential "bloodbath" should Drake have decided to "go in all guns blazing". As the team debated about K9, Drake had the CCPCs bring Darius (who had doubts that K9 was telling the truty) to him. Drake said he admired his "Pragmatism" meaning how he didn't pick the losing side and he wasn't easily scared, Drake then asked Darius to be his operative on the inside. While watching the recording of the attack, Jorjie noticed Drake's smug smile before he was shot. In order to provoke Darius, Orthrus came in the middle of the night and severely damaged Mariah, Professor Gryffen's sentient Car who Darius had a strong bond with. As June looked at Drake's warrant for K9's arrest she noticed an Operation: Orthrus noted. When she decided to take a look, she found out it was classified. Drake then arrived, June questioned him about how he smiled before he was shot, he replied it was due to many reasons such as courage. In the morning, Darius was shocked abd furious to find what had happened to Mariah. K9 decided that he should surrender while Starkey suggested he fight off the Department, Gryffen insisted that wasn't the right way. Drake then arrived with two CCPC's with a warrant to arrest K9. When Gryffen requested to see the warrant, Drake ordered them to move on. When Jorjie demanded to see the warrant one CCPC grabbed her arm, causing Darius to put a bucket on its head in her defense. Gryffen then wired the other one to his antique radio causing it to dance. As the kids and K9 ran Drake pulled off the bucket and blamed Gryffen, he said they were just being themselves and taunted Drake, who angrily destroyed pulled the wire off the dancing CCPC. In the cellar Darius split up with the rest to trick the CCPCS lead away, he was then met by Orthrus who shot at him. He then ran to Starkey and Jorjie saying K9 had gone mad, they didn't belive him. Orthrus then came and aimed at Jorjie, Starkey then went in front of her. As Orthrus prepared to fire, K9 realised he was framed and shot Orthrus. Orthrus prepared to fire again but K9 easily disabled him. Drake and his CCPCs then walked in, Drake was furious at the "15'000 manhours , up in smoke" and said it would give him pleasure to dissamble K9 and make him his lapdog. June then interrupted and informed him that Operation: Orthrus was not approved by the Department and was terminated, Drake refused to accept this and angrily left. (K9TV: Jaws of Orthrus)
Lomax ruled that K9 came under June's jurisdiction rather than Drake's and, as a further way of protecting K9, June formed the K9 Unit. (TV: The Bounty Hunter (TV story)) Still wanting K9's technology, Drake devised Operation Orthrus, a plan to build a duplicate of K9 as a way of framing him and giving Drake cause to apply to the Public Safety Council for an arrest warrant. Building Orthrus took 15,000 man-hours. (TV: Jaws of Orthrus (TV story))

Drake had a CCPC test the Inhibitor when Starkey, Jorjie Turner and K9 intervened in Vibeka's arrest, only for it to fail as cerilium had to be willingly accepted. He had Melaina built and used her to distribute cerilium bracelets at Magdalen Academy, a school which he convinced June to send Jorjie to. Jorjie accepted a bracelet, but Drake saw through her ruse when she regained control and deactivated Melaina after K9 shot the girls' bracelets. (TV: Sirens of Ceres (TV story))
When a UFO entered Earth's orbit, Drake ordered it to be destroyed with Orbital missles. June told him to stop as it hadn't been fully analysed and she argued it may be Spacerock. Drake however didn't tolerate tresspassers, when June askrf if they come in peace he replied "Then they leave in pieces". The ships suddenly dissapeared, Drake was shocked by this as the Computer tells him it has burnt up in the atmosphere. Later, June detected an alien prescence in the Gryffen House and called for back up, the Anubians took action against the Department and started materializing hypnotic headbands to all Department officers. Drake initated Code Red Alert and called for all agents, but fell victim to the Anubians control as well. When the crisis was resolved and the Anubians were arrested by the Department, June cheerfully said there was "no hurry" in taking the Headband off Drake. (K9TV: Curse of Anubis)

Drake then hatched a plan, he had a Medes starship along with it's two pilots captured. The ship's molecular refractor givess the ship the ability to dematerialise and with that he could use it to spy anywhere and not be seen by anyone, even by LOMAXX.The attempted replication of their technology caused pollution which leaked into the River Thames. In June's office Drake talked to a CCPC through a Department computer, who told him the Medes were withholding information they need, Drake ordered them to be more persuasive. June arrived and asked why he's here and spoke to him about his special security unit. She told him how she sent her squad to investigate possible alien activity but were turned back by Drake's unit. She warned that alien threats are above all other Department operations, and if her squad is blocked again she will inform LOMAXX. Drake was then contacted by the CCPC who tells him the aliens won't stop talking, Drake then tells June he won't "upset" her squad again. He then told her he has business to attend to and she then left. In Drake's office June found the missing schematics for a Fallen Angel on his computer. When Drake arrived she asked him his interest in the ship, he replied the entire Department wants to know where its located. When she asked him about the featured detail on the top, he replied he had no idea and told her to leave as he has business to attend to. Before she does so she warned him he best not be revealed to be in possession of the ship. Drake then contacted the CCPC who told him the aliens aren't cooperating, Drake then authorised the use of torture. The Medes attempted to communicate with K9 and the gang by using their Avatar forms to direct him to the source of the pollution through the sewers while Darius and Jorjie went to the processing factory and were captured. June then found and went to the factory. She then used her higher authorisation to shut down the project, she and the gang then went to the Department Prison and released the Medes, returning their technology and apologising for Drake's actions. They then removed the pollution from the river Thames and returned home with their spaceship.(K9TV: Alien Avatar)
After two tramps reported on Darius Pike's attack by the Shadow inside a wardrobe, the terrified Drake demanded that June deal with it and took the case as his own after her scans found no trace of any aliens. He interrogated Starkey, whom he believed to be hiding something, about the alien, but Starkey told him that the alien was in his imagination and he released him. Despite the fact that K9 was inside the wardrobe, Drake ordered a bomb to be dropped into the wardrobe to kill the alien and then destroyed the wardrobe with a punch of his cybernetic fist. The Shadow told him that he would be with him forever. (TV: Fear Itself (TV story))

When the Aeolian's mating call caused storms across the United Kingdom,  Drake suspected Gryffen as he almost single-handedly caused the Great Cataclysm. June argued that he was part of a group of scientists who all agreed with the experiment, a "crazy, irresponsible experiment" as noted by Drake. Exactly the same as the catastrophe affecting Britain. Drake then considered arresting Gryffen for being a "Mad Scientist". Drake managed to find the Aeolian in the High Cross Cathedral and went there along with four CCPCs, Starkey and K9 told him she was an Aeolian merely looking for her mate. Despite their objections, Drake ordered the CCPCs to stun her. They then fired at her, knocking her out. K9 told Drake that as the feedback loop hooks up with gravity the Earth will shatter like a wine glass, Drake however refuses to listen to a "Robot Dog and a Juvenile Delinquent". As Starkey tried to contact the Aeolians mate using the church organ. Drake ordered the CCPCs to take the Aeolian out but when K9 threatened to "Liquidate" him and his "Gangsters" he ordered them to stand down. (K9TV: Aeolian)
Drake found June making a personal call to Jorjie during a storm which was knocking out communications across London and sarcastically commented on how fortunate she was to have the time to make such a call. When he asked who she was talking to, she claimed that she was experiencing electrical interference and ended the call. (TV: The Fall of the House of Gryffen (TV story))

After the Centuripede stole the Great Oak from a Museum. Drake was sent with orders from LOMAXX as the thief was classed as an A-Level threat "which means it's time to let the Big Boys play". June (who was looking at the alien substance) argued that this wasn't his Jurisdiction as Drake picked up a piece of the alien substance. Drake later went to kill the aliens in the sewers, June then warned Gryffen who alterted K9 and the team. Drake put a gas bomb set to detonate in four minutes. However, everyone including the aliens managed to escape. (K9TV: The Last Oak Tree)
With Orthrus complete, Drake had the K9 double shoot him at a protest against Department microchips and requested an arrest warrant from the Public Safety Council. He did not approve of June negotiating with K9 to give himself up to the authorities and had the CCPC bring Darius to him so that he would have an ally when he went to make the arrest, offering Darius a brighter future in return for his assistance. Darius betrayed him, however, and K9 destroyed Orthrus. Afterwards, June informed him that she had met with the Public Safety Council and had the warrant recalled due to Drake bypassing approvals to get Operation Orthrus off the ground. (TV: Jaws of Orthrus (TV story))

After an attempt to utilise alien nanobots to dispose of waste went horribly wrong, almost resulting in the destruction of the Earth, the disgraced Drake was replaced by Inspector Thorne, the former Governor of Dauntless Prison. (K9TV: Black Hunger)
Alien encounters
Drake was keen to have the Anubian spacecraft destroyed even before he and June had received a threat analysis, but it disappeared before he could do so and June incorrectly surmised that it had likely been a meteor. He and a technician were controlled by Nehetka and Geb's control headbands when one of their urns appeared in the camo and, following the Anubians defeat, June was in no hurry to remove them. (TV: Curse of Anubis (TV story))

Personality
After three days of depriving the Medes of food and drink, Drake authorised the CCPC to torture them and denied June's insinuations that he was behind the disappearance of the Mede starship after his elite team turned her hunter-killers away from the project site and she found him looking at a schematic of the ship. June and the K9 Unit shut down the project and released the Medes, to whom June apologised for Drake's actions. Although Drake had been acting on his own in stealing the starship and torturing the Medes, June had no evidence against him. (TV: Alien Avatar (TV story))
Drake had zero tolerance on any dissent and seemed to be highly devoted to the Department, however he strived to satisfy his own agenda rather than that of the Department's. Drake also had a rivalry with June Turner head of the Alien Activity section due to their arguements concerning K9 and Drake's interference in Alien Incursions. Drake had a rather dark sense of humour, as when K9 entered Dauntless Prison's exclusion he gave the order to "Exclude it". While explaining the situation of a bomb threat on a Ferris Wheel to a worried crowd he made an explosion sound. When a UFO entered Earth and he gave the order for it to be destroyed, June asked "And if they come in peace" he replied "Then they leave in pieces".

When an Aeolian's mating call caused storms which reminded Drake of the Great Cataclysm, he called June into work and decided to pull Gryffen in for questioning. June pointed out that he had no grounds too, however, and visited Gryffen herself. Drake confronted the Aeolian at the Holy Cross Cathedral and had the CCPC shoot her when Starkey and K9 refused to do so. K9 threatened to "liquidate" Drake and the CCPCs if they shot the Aeolian again once she recovered, leading Drake to stand the CCPCs down and retreat. (TV: Aeolian (TV story))

Lomax deemed the Centuripede to be an A-level threat and sent Drake to London Museum to deal with it following its theft of the Major Oak, which June was already investigating. After taking and analysing a sample left behind by the Centuripede, Drake locked onto the K9 Unit's heat signals to follow them to the nest in the sewers until K9 masked them. He then activated a bomb containing tetragliceride and left the sewers. (TV: The Last Oak Tree (TV story))

Downfall
Drake decided to revive Operation Black Hunger, having the Hunger altered to make it more efficient and using the Imploder to contain and transport it, and allowed it to be used by sanitation workers to clear up rubbish in the tunnels beneath London. The Imploder was stolen by Darius and Drake, unconcerned that it could kill the thief, unsuccessfully attempted to keep its nature a secret from June, later assuring her that the Hunger was under control. She pointed out that it would be the end of his career if the Hunger was released.

Admitting to June that Operation Black Hunger was, in part, intended as a way of killing those he considered indesirable, Drake sent the CCPC to recover the Imploder, which had ended up in the possession of Starkey, Jorjie and K9. He ordered the Imploder's self-destruct to be activated despite the deaths it would cause, but Jorjie managed to stop it and K9 absorbed the Hunger. With the situation resolved, June reported Drake's actions to Lomax, who ruled that Drake would be moved to other duties and replaced as Head of Security by Thorne. (TV: Black Hunger (TV story))

Personality
Drake believed that one should strive for nothing less than perfection. He wanted an obedient population without free will (TV: Sirens of Ceres (TV story)) and without those he deemed dissident or undesirable. (TV: Black Hunger (TV story)) He was willing to use alien technology to control (TV: Sirens of Ceres (TV story)) and kill people to achieve this goal. (TV: Black Hunger (TV story))

Drake claimed that he was not afraid of anything, but he was terrified of the Shadow. (TV: Fear Itself (TV story)) Alistair Gryffen described him as being "sly like a fox" (TV: Jaws of Orthrus (TV story)) and a "dunce" (TV: Aeolian (TV story)) and Jorjie Turner and Darius Pike believed that he was insane. (TV: Jaws of Orthrus (TV story)) Whilst June Turner believed that he could get carried away, (TV: Aeolian (TV story)) she denied that he was mad. (TV: Jaws of Orthrus (TV story))

Inspector Drake was a 21st century human who worked as Head of Security for the Department.

K9's arrival[[edit] | [edit source]]

When Drake was alerted to the sighting of an Unidentified Flying Object outside Dauntless Prison, he ordered it to be observed and had it shot down once it entered the Department exclusion zone. (TV: Fear Itself [+]Loading...["Fear Itself (TV story)"])

Drake found June making a personal call to Jorjie during a storm which was knocking out communications across London and sarcastically commented on how fortunate she was to have the time to make such a call. When he asked who she was talking to, she claimed that she was experiencing electrical interference and ended the call. Alien encounters[[edit] | [edit source]]

(TV: Alien Avatar [+]Loading...["Alien Avatar (TV story)"])

(TV: The Last Oak Tree [+]Loading...["The Last Oak Tree (TV story)"])

Downfall[[edit] | [edit source]]

Personality[[edit] | [edit source]]

Drake believed that one should strive for nothing less than perfection. He wanted an obedient population without free will (TV: Sirens of Ceres [+]Loading...["Sirens of Ceres (TV story)"]) and without those he deemed dissident or undesirable. (TV: Black Hunger [+]Loading...["Black Hunger (TV story)"]) He was willing to use alien technology to control (TV: Sirens of Ceres [+]Loading...["Sirens of Ceres (TV story)"]) and kill people to achieve this goal. (TV: Black Hunger [+]Loading...["Black Hunger (TV story)"])

Drake claimed that he was not afraid of anything, but he was terrified of the Shadow. (TV: Fear Itself [+]Loading...["Fear Itself (TV story)"]) Alistair Gryffen described him as being "sly like a fox" (TV: Jaws of Orthrus [+]Loading...["Jaws of Orthrus (TV story)"]) and a "dunce" (TV: Aeolian [+]Loading...["Aeolian (TV story)"]) and Jorjie Turner and Darius Pike believed that he was insane. (TV: Jaws of Orthrus [+]Loading...["Jaws of Orthrus (TV story)"]) Whilst June Turner believed that he could get carried away, (TV: Aeolian [+]Loading...["Aeolian (TV story)"]) she denied that he was mad.
