Welcome to Wikicities. It looks like you've made a great start already. However, one problem is that you were claiming on Tardis:About that the content was under a Creative Commons license, when all Wikicities are actually under the GNU Free Documentation License. This isn't (yet) compatible with the CC. Also, the GFDL does allow commercial re-use of the content, so you can't add restrictions like non-commercial-use-only to this wiki. Please see Wikicities:Wikicities copyrights for details. I hope this isn't a problem for you. Angela 10:12, 17 Feb 2005 (GMT)
Glad you like the new TV Story infobox. I'll get round to changing the other info boxes soon as well. I don't know if you noticed but I changed 'Year' to 'Setting'. As we don't always know the year I thought it might be useful to be able to put something like, 'Draconia. The far future'. --Mantrid 16:45, 9 September 2006 (UTC)

Hello again. Please reconsider the protection of pages here at this early stage. It is likely to be off-putting to users if the first page they see is not even editable. Wikicities:Protection states that page protection is for highly vandalised pages, and since no vandalism has ever occured here, I don't see a need to start locking things down already. == Updating TV Story pages ==

Lots to do, where to begin?
Hello Freethinker1of1. I'm not sure who I should go to for this request, but I think the TV Story pages should have a section for quotes. I have seen that another person has put quotes but others erase the quotes. I probably should have asked someone before I put any quotes on a page because it's not officially part of the TV Story format, but I still think we should have them. What do you think? --User:Steed 18 November 2007 20:09

Hello, Freethinker!  I'm so glad that someone has started a Doctor Who Wiki.  I've been fiddling about on Memory Alpha for a while, and had been thinking that it would be great if there were a similar site for Doctor Who.  Looks like you thought the same thing!  (I probably would have called it "Amplified Panatropic Computer Network", since like the Matrix a Wiki is composed of the wisdom of its members, and also since I tend to prefer the Holmes to the Bidmead... but I'm not complaining!)
:Not to sort of jump in and (seemingly) hijack Freethinker101's talk page, but I think this should be discussed in the forum, rather than here. --Tangerineduel 11:55, 19 November 2007 (UTC)

So what do you think should be the first order of business?  Creating a structure for users, or filling in things like episodes?  How do we develop conventions on things like episode citation (which is a mess at MA, in my opinion)?  Should we get a start on pages like the Doctor or Gallifrey, or is it more important to have more developed Help pages?  Heck, should I ask these questions here or in the (currently blank) Community Portal?  So many questions... :) --Josiah Rowe 04:40, 22 Feb 2005 (GMT)

Moving pages
There is a video for this epiesode I found it at this link
Hello, you might want to consider moving pages rather than copying them to a new title and then deleting the old one. There is a move tab at the top of each article. For example, you could have moved List of television serials to List of television stories, which would have left an automatic redirect, meaning anyone who had bookmarked the original page would be able to find the new page more easily. See Wikicities:Help:Moving pages. Angela 17:00, 23 Feb 2005 (GMT)

Your kind sysop offer
I might be interested (although my wiki skills are really only fair-to-middling).  However, I can't guarantee a constant presence on the boards.  My work schedule is such that I'm likely to have a week with lots of free time, then a couple of weeks with no time at all.  (I'm an on-off moderator at Outpost Gallifrey's Forum for the same reason.)

So if you don't mind if I'm occasionally absent for a long stretch of time, I'd be happy to become a sysop (although I've still got a lot to learn about wiki stuff). --Josiah Rowe 06:44, 12 Mar 2005 (GMT)

Glad you like the new TV Story infobox. I'll get round to changing the other info boxes soon as well. I don't know if you noticed but I changed 'Year' to 'Setting'. Hello Freethinker1of1. I'm not sure who I should go to for this request, but I think the TV Story pages should have a section for quotes. I have seen that another person has put quotes but others erase the quotes. Not to sort of jump in and (seemingly) hijack Freethinker101's talk page, but I think this should be discussed in the forum, rather than here. --Tangerineduel 11:55, 19 November 2007 (UTC)

Christmas cheeredit source

Happy holidays!

As this fiftieth anniversary year comes to a close, we here at Tardis just want to thank you for being a part of our community — even if you haven't edited here in a while. If you have edited with us this year, then thanks for all your hard work.

This year has seen an impressive amount of growth. We've added about 11,000 pages this year, which is frankly incredible for a wiki this big. November was predictably one of the busiest months we've ever had: over 500 unique editors pitched in. It was the highest number of editors in wiki history for a year in which only one programme in the DWU was active. And our viewing stats have been through the roof. We've averaged well over 2 million page views each week for the last two months, with some weeks seeing over 4 million views!

We've received an unprecedented level of support from Wikia Staff, resulting in all sorts of new goodies and productive new relationships. And we've recently decided to lift almost every block we've ever made so as to allow most everyone a second chance to be part of our community.

2014 promises to build on this year's foundations, especially since we've got a full, unbroken series coming up — something that hasn't happened since 2011. We hope you'll stick with us — or return to the Tardis — so that you can be a part of the fun!
