Derek Newark (8 June 1933-11 August 1998[1]) appeared in two Doctor Who television stories: as Za in An Unearthly Child and Greg Sutton and his Inferno Earth counterpart in Inferno.
He was also considered for the roles of Ike Clanton and Virgil Earp in The Gunfighters. (TCH 7)

Outside of Doctor Who, Newark is perhaps best known on TV for his role as Spooner in the popular sitcom Rising Damp.
