The war was fought across time, so there may not be any specific time that it started. Even without the time-lock, the Doctor can't go back to the time-war, because he has already been there and is "part of events." Its the same reason why he can never travel back in time to the begginning of an episode to warn people about the danger that he knows will happen.Icecreamdif 22:18, August 31, 2010 (UTC)

From what I gathered about it, what a time lock essentially did was completely remove whatever was inside it from time and space, it wasn't anywhere or anywhen. That's why Jack said in Bad Wold (?) that they vanished from space and time. The Doctor was the only one that "escaped" it after destroying the Daleks and Time Lords, but the lock stayed in place, keeping the two races inside. cozenI was just wondering about the time lock on the time war.

So the time lock cant be entered at all nobody can get there without serious plans having been put in place or total random accident.

but what would happen if the doctor traveled to just before the war broke out and lived into it, would he enter the time war or would something happen to prevent him from doing so.
