Alan and Maria moved to Bannerman Road in Ealing. The first night in her new home, Maria made the life-changing discovery about her neighbour, Sarah Jane Smith, whom she saw talking with a glowing, winged alien. The next day, she and a new friend, Kelsey Hooper, went to the Bubble Shock! factory where Maria learned she was one of the 2% who didn't drink Bubble Shock! When Kelsey used her phone, it triggered the Bane's alarms which awakened their artificially created human child, "the Archetype". Maria escaped the factory with Sarah Jane and the Archetype. On their return to Bannerman Road, Sarah Jane told her to forget everything she had seen and go live her life like a normal person.

They were joined by Kelsey, and then Davey, a disguised Bane who unmasked and tried to kill them. After Davey was defeated, Maria went upstairs to Sarah Jane's attic, where she was told the truth about the universe: aliens came to Earth all the time. She met Mr Smith, Sarah Jane's alien supercomputer and K9 Mark IV, her robot dog who was stuck beneath Switzerland trying to repair a black hole so the Earth wouldn't be sucked in. She, Sarah Jane and the Archetype banded together to defeat the Bane invasion and blow up the Bubble Shock! factory. On naming the Archetype that Sarah Jane adopted, Maria replied, "I like Luke". (TV: Invasion of the Bane)

A week later, Maria and Luke went to their first day at Park Vale Comprehensive School, They met Clyde Langer, who had also just started. Sarah Jane, investigating the company who built the science block, told Maria and Luke to look around look for something suspicious. Clyde tagged along. They found two of the teachers and a student had disguised themselves as Slitheen, and the family were using transducers across the world to absorb power from the Sun so they could sell the Earth. Clyde then joined Luke and Maria in the fight against the Slitheen.

He turns the machine off and uses the Sonic Lipstick to cause the machine to malfunction. As the room explodes, the continental Slitheen, still disguised, escapes whilst Janine is electrocuted and explodes and Jeffrey and Carl are trapped. They beg for Sarah's help, and she tries to open the door, but Jeffrey is killed when the technology explodes. However, at the same time, Carl escapes. Sarah Jane is highly affected by this, as she thinks Carl is dead. Afterwards, and then accepts him into the team and all them are friends,  (SJA: Revenge of the Slitheen)
After discovering the Slitheen's weakness, vinegar, Maria went back to Park Vale to kill Glune Fex Fize, who was disguised as their head teacher Mr Blakeman. The Slitheen captured Maria and she saw the capacitor start to overload. The Slitheen reset it, but Luke then damaged it with his mother's sonic lipstick. While the team were investigating claims of sightings of a ghostly nun at Lavender Lawns, the local nursing home, Chrissie temporarily moved in with Maria and Alan, causing further problems in the family. At Lavender Lawns, an old lady gave Luke an ancient talisman, the key to a portal in space and time. The nuns were hiding an age-old creature, a Gorgon. They kidnapped Luke and Clyde and took the Gorgon and Maria to Sarah Jane's house, where the Gorgon turned her father into stone. Having got what they came for, the nuns and the Gorgon left.

Mr Smith told Maria and Sarah that Alan's original form was retrievable until 16:00. The Gorgon — a parasite inside the Abbess — chose Sarah Jane as its next host. Just as the Gorgon began to transfer itself, Maria arrived and used a mirror to revert the transfer and turn the Gorgon — and Abbess — to stone, freeing the nuns of their mind-control. Maria disconnected the talisman and the portal shut down forever. The talisman brought her father back to flesh-and-blood and Chrissie left, reuniting with Ivan. Meanwhile, Chrissie  moves in with her and her dad , but succeeds only in causing further problems in the family. Back at Lavender Lawns, an old lady gives Luke an ancient talisman, which is really the key to a portal in space and time. They find that a group of nuns are hiding an age-old creature, the Gorgon. When Sarah Jane refuses to give the talisman to the nuns, they kidnap Luke and Clyde and take the Gorgon and Maria to Sarah Jane's house where the Gorgon turns her father into stone,Having got what they came for, the nuns and Gorgon left. Luke and Clyde escape from their entrapment via a secret passage. Mr Smith tells Maria and Sarah that Alan is retrievable until 16:00. Luke and Clyde see the Gorgon stumble, but are unable to prevent the talisman beginning the process of joining the Gorgon Homeworld with Earth. The Gorgon - a parasite inside the Abbess - chooses Sarah Jane as its next host. Chatting with Bea reveals  that the talisman can revert those turned to stone. Clyde distracts the nuns long enough that Luke grabs the talisman, disconnecting the portal. However, Sarah Jane and both boys are recaptured and locked in another room, though Sarah Jane is soon taken and tied next to the portal. Luke and Clyde escape again and join Sarah Jane just as the Gorgon begins to transfer itself, but Maria arrives and uses a mirror to revert the transfer and turn the Gorgon - and Abbess - to stone, freeing the nuns of mind-control. Maria disconnects the talisman and the portal shuts down forever. When several people in Ealing, including the mother of her school mate Julie started to steal gold Maria helped Sarah Jane to investigate. Together they went to the Auriga Clinic. There Maria was being injected with gold, while Sarah Jane talked to Francis Augur. Back at the attic of 13 Bannerman Road Mr Smith scanned Maria's body and told Sarah Jane that the gold would automatically be gone within a few days. That night, however Clyde and Luke saw Maria leaving for the Auriga Clinic. She was in some kind of cataleptic state, not fully aware of her environment, and unable to respond to stimuli. She didn't react when Luke and Clyde were calling her. The following morning Maria seemed to be completely normal and couldn't remember that she had left her house. Sarah Jane later found out that Maria was under the control of the Keratin, who controlled her through the gold injection. The Keratin used Maria to spy on Sarah Jane. Sarah Jane did not want to worry Maria and did not want to let the Keratin know that she had found out about their control of Maria's mind, which could endanger Maria's life. Sarah Jane told Clyde and Luke not to mention the Keratin or Maria's nightly visit of the Auriga Clinic towards Maria. The next night Sarah Jane and Luke followed Maria to the Auriga Clinic. Maria and the other people who were controlled by the Keratin wanted to take away the oceans of the planet Earth to get the gold of the ocean. The Keratin wanted to use the gold to be able to control the whole universe. Sarah Jane later pressed a patch with lithium citrate on Maria's neck and Maria got free of the Keratin's mind control. The Keratin were killed by salt water and couldn't invade Earth any longer. (AUDIO: The Glittering Storm)

Maria, Clyde, Luke, Sam, Mr Bradbury and Sarah Jane went on a school trip to the Stone Whisperers. There the alien Ravage started to take control of Luke's mind. Maria supported Luke when he fought a mental battle against Ravage and helped Luke expelling Ravage from his mind. (AUDIO: The Thirteenth Stone)
One day Sarah Jane and Alan  had picked up Maria , Luke and Clyde and stopped off in a park where Clyde practises his skateboarding. Alan, disapointed at what he sees, attempts to teach Clyde, by sshowing off his own skills. Maria, desperate to get her dad away from the skate park takes several photos of everyone. When taking one of Sarah Jane something odd happens.  Back in Sarah's attic, Sarah Jane tells Maria, Luke about a meteorite on course with Earth, but reassures them that Mr Smith will be able to deflect it away the following day. After telling Luke to go make some tea Sarah Jane tells Maria  she is the one person she trusts best and gives her an alien puzzle box, that was given to her by a Verron Soothsayer who they helped fly home the previously week , who told her to give it to the person she trusts the most and just to 'remember' She  attempts to open it that night in bed, but after becoming disappointed that she is barely getting anywhere she falls asleep holding it, as a mysterious cloaked figure approaches Sarah Jane's house. He holds out a hand and the lights in Sarah's house go out and her car disappears. Meanwhile the puzzle block glows blue in Maria's hand. The next day, after telling her dad if she was going to Sarah Jane's and realising her dad does not know (or at least can not remember) anybody named Sarah Jane Maria begins to get seriously freaked out. She crosses the road and finds some strange woman in Sarah's house who apparently knows her.

Mr Smith was monitoring a meteorite that passed a radar blindspot and prepared to send it back. Sarah Jane handed Maria a puzzlebox a Verron soothsayer had given her the previous week. The Trickster had been making a deal with Andrea Yates in 1964 to swap places with her friend. When the deal happened, Maria awoke in a world where she never befriended Clyde, Sarah Jane had died in 1964 and Mr Smith was never installed in 13 Bannerman Road's attic. The Trickster had guided away Maria's various encounters with aliens so that he could feed on the chaos of the meteorite strike.

After checking the photos from before and finding Sarah Jane is not in them, rather the strange woman, Andrea Yates, Maria finds that Sarah Jane, Luke and Mr. Smith have all disappeared, and she alone remembers them. A woman named Andrea Yates is living in Sarah Jane's house as if she always has. Maria searches her contacts and finds Sarah Jane, Luke and Clydes' numbers have all vanished. She warns everybody about the impending meteor, but no one will listen, Clyde doesn't even know her very well. After claiming to her dad she was lying about a woman called Sarah Jane she decides to go investigating. She finds a newspaper article from 1964  stating that a thirteen-year-old Sarah Jane Smith drowned after falling from a pier, where she was playing with her friend, Andrea Yates. As Maria watches, the names of the deceased and the survivor switch, though a bemused Alan claims he saw nothing. When Maria confronts Andrea, she becomes very angry, shouting at her. "I'm gonna work out how time got changed, I'm gonna find Sarah Jane, and NOTHING is gonna stop me!!!" Andrea throws her out and the panic stricken woman rushes to her attic and finds a second puzzle box.
The Trickster's Graske servant, Krislok, captured Maria, and sent her to Limbo causing her to be erased from Earth's timeline. There she encountered Sarah Jane, who told her about the day Andrea died. Alan captured the Graske and got Maria back, and she assisted in helping Andrea go back to her rightful place, so that the timeline returned to normal and Mr Smith could prevent the meteorite from hitting Earth. (TV: Whatever Happened to Sarah Jane?)

The cloaked figure appears and reminds Andrea of himself and what she agreed. She can't bear her memory and begs him to help her. He offers to make Maria disappear. Andrea dreads the thought of knowing she would have erased Maria, but the figure promises she will forget, as the whole World will. After Andrea accepts, he dispatches a Graske, who chases Maria then drops the puzzle box. Maria comes to a dead end under a tunnel, and despite her attempts to dodge the gun, Graske shoots a clip attached to a cord at Maria, and the clip catches on to her breast pocket. The Graske telephotos Maria away just after Alan picks up the first . When Chrissie comes round he discovers his ex-wife cannot remember their daughter. Meanwhile Maria escapes from the Graske and finds herself on a beach promenade near two girls. She grabs a newspaper and sees the date, knowing July 13th 1964 to be the day of the accident. When Maria asks the two girls where she is, they introduce themselves as Andrea Yates and Sarah Jane Smith.Maria got capture by the Graske again she was sent to Limbo which she met Sarah Jane again happy to see each other  Sarah tells her what was the alien Maria tells what kind of Person  Andera is. Meanwhile Alan jack son capture the Grake and got Maria back anf toget they stop the Trickster and everyone was back to stop the meteorite (SJA: Whatever Happened to Sarah Jane?)

However, in the process, Alan stumbled in on the existence of Sarah Jane's activities. Maria told him about her adventures and the things she had seen. He decided that they were moving away, concerned for his daughter, but Alan recanted and decided to stay in their old home when Maria convinced him that not all aliens were evil. Maria and Alan then helped defeat the Slitheen and the rogue Mr Smith. (TV: The Lost Boy)

Alan later received a letter inviting him to work in America, at the head office of Technologies. Maria was distraught at the implications, despite Alan telling her that the decision was not just his to make.

At Goblin's Copse, Maria found Kaagh, the last of the Sontarans that had attempted an invasion of Earth earlier that year. He planned to use the Tycho Project radio telescope to take control of Earth's satellites, and steer them to crash into nuclear stockpiles on Earth, triggering nuclear annihilation. He did so using mind control on the Tycho.

Maria, not sure that Luke would be able to synthesise the gas in time, decided to ask Mr Smith for more information on defeating Sontarans. As Mr Smith was still in Ealing, she called her dad and asked him to contact the computer, unaware that he would be followed into Sarah Jane's attic by Chrissie.

Last Adventure
When the plan to deactivate the telescope had failed, all appeared lost until Chrissie burst into the observatory and attacked Kaagh's probic vent with her high-heeled shoe, allowing Luke to deactivate the telescope. Maria then used the gas to knock out her mother, having Alan take her home and pretend that she had dreamt everything about Kaagh.

Six weeks later, Maria came up to the attic to say goodbye to Mr Smith and have one last look before she left. The next day, Maria and Alan said their goodbyes to Sarah Jane, Luke, and Clyde, as they left for their new life in America. (TV: The Last Sontaran)

They watch the night sky as they look forward to many more discoveries. At a radio telescope used by the Tycho Project's search for alien life, in rural Goblin's Copse, Lucy Skinner and her astronomer dad, Professor Nicholas Skinner, are observing the night sky when they spot strange lights floating about. Professor Skinner investigates, but goes missing. Lucy investigates, and is promptly captured herself. The following day, Luke and Clyde play a strategy game using Mr Smith, in order to learn about battle strategies. Sarah Jane interrupts as she had heard reports of the strange lights the previous night. Despite Mr Smith's assurances that strange lights rarely herald alien activity, decides to pursue the story. While Maria and her Dad  discuss the large change that is about to happen in their lives, and Alan tells Maria that the decision is not just his to make. Sarah Jane, Clyde, Luke and Maria head to the countryside to investigate. They arrive at Goblin's Copse, and discuss the size of space, while being watched by something. Inside, the team finds Lucy, who tells them that her dad is still missing. Luke and Clyde look outside for the Professor, after being warned to stay away from the woods. As the boys begin to search the woods, the creature watching them becomes invisible. While Lucy sleeps, Sarah Jane manages to learn the truth from Maria. Alan has been offered a job in America, at the head office of his firm. Maria is ambivalent about the news; happy for her dad, but sad that she must leave her friends behind. At his house, Alan discusses the job with Chrissie and about how it will change Maria's life more than his.

When Lucy wakes up, Sarah Jane persuades her to recall the events of the previous night. Professor Skinner appears, though he seems strangely detached and unemotional. He orders Sarah Jane and Maria to leave immediately, which they do. Lucy makes him some coffee and he approaches her strangely.
Later, Maria was involved in helping aliens hide from the American government. One of the races she encountered was the Zodin, whom Sarah Jane had also met. (TV: The Mad Woman in the Attic) Soon after, Maria was invited to Sarah Jane's wedding, but could not attend because she was taking exams. (TV: The Wedding of Sarah Jane Smith)
Luke calls Sarah Jane, and when she and Maria arrive, he and Clyde show them the object. When the cloaking field is disabled and Sarah Jane immediately recognises the ship as Sontaran. Its Sontaran occupant, Commander Kaagh appears behind them, armed.
When Maria tricks Kaagh, the group manage to escape, splitting up, with Kaagh chasing them. Sarah Jane and Clyde attempt to reason with Professor Skinner. They discover that he is under mind control by the Sontaran. Outside the Observatory, Luke and Maria crawl into a vent that pierces into the building.
Maria and Luke watch from the vent, while Kaagh and Sarah Jane talk. He reveals he was badly wounded when the Doctor defeated the Sontaran army. The only survivor of the botched invasion, he has vowed revenge on Earth for his peoples' humiliation. He reveals his plan to use the Tycho radio telescope to take control of Earth's satellites, and steer them to crash into nuclear stockpiles on Earth, triggering nuclear annihilation.Clyde protests, so Kaagh says he will experiment on him. Sarah Jane steps in front of Clyde, denying Kaagh, who pulls out his gun and shoots her. Kaagh shoots Sarah Jane, who sprawls, unconscious, on the floor. He then boasts to Clyde that she will be taken to Sontar  as a prize, and he will be hailed as a hero instead of a laughingstock and perhaps even given a more honourable epithet, such as "Kaagh the Avenger".Luke and Maria are hidden in a nearby vent, watching the scene unfold. They catch Clyde's attention and motion for him to join them. Luke, Maria, and Clyde provoke Kaagh into chasing them through the observatory's corridors and service tunnels; the teens escape into the forest and block Kaagh from getting out. They run to Kaagh's shuttle, Maria descides to tell Luke about America and luke feeling really upset because she has always been there for her from the very star but she said none that matters if we don't stop Kaagh he continues with  the alien chemicals stored inside to synthesise a knockout gas that will incapacitate the Sontaran. But then Luke sets off the intruder alarm, and knowing that it will bring Kaagh, Cyde sets off to distract him.

Sarah Jane activates her new invention; just as she expected, Skinner soon appears to search for it. Sarah Jane and Lucy sneak out, locking Skinner in the room, and try to figure out a way to disarm the satellites. They let Clyde in through the same door Luke, Maria and Clyde escaped through earlier, just in time to save him from Kaagh, who they lock out. Kaagh enters through the the main door, breaks down the door to the room Skinner was locked in, and expresses his rage at him.Maria, not sure that Luke will be able to synthesise the gas in time, decides to ask Mr Smith for more information on defeating Sontarans. As Mr Smith is still in Ealing, she calls her dad and asks him to contact the computer. Alan does so, unaware that he has been followed into Sarah Jane's attic by his ex-wife Chrissie. Chrissie demands to know what is going on; Alan quickly brings her up to speed on Sarah Jane's alien hunting and Maria's role as her assistant. Chrissie realizes he is telling the truth as his lip twitches when he is lying. Maria's parents, fearful for her safety, decide to join their daughter at Goblin's Copse.
In September 2010, Maria congratulated Luke, through a webcam conversation, on being accepted to the University of Oxford. He attempted to tell her about the Nightmare Man, but was unable to do so. (TV: The Nightmare Man) Before Luke left, he threw two farewell parties. Maria eventually got a statue in her honour, like other members of Sarah Jane's gang, for defending Earth. (PROSE: The Wedding of Sarah Jane Smith)

Sarah Jane, Maria, Clyde, Luke and Lucy all meet up. Sarah Jane takes Luke and Lucy with her to try and deactivate the transmitter, while Maria and Clyde go and try to find the switch that will move the transmitter away from the satellites. However Kaagh and Skinner get there first and capture them.
Maria and her father had to view Sarah Jane's memorial through a computer window screen, as they had missed their plane because they had been chasing a Bandril through Seattle. Maria cried during the service. (WC: Farewell, Sarah Jane)
Luke tries to break into the observatory's main computers, eventually succeeding when he realises that Sontarans, who have three fingers on each hand, probably use base six mathematics. But Kaagh appears and reveals that Lucy is a sleeper agent, activates the mind-control chip he had implanted in her, and instructs her to re-activate the transmitter. He threatened Maria's life if Sarah Jane tries to stop him. All appears lost--until Chrissie bursts into the observatory and attacks Kaagh's probic vent with her high-heeled shoe, incapacitating him more effectively than Luke's knockout gas was able to. The transmitter is de-activated, this time for good. Kaagh is escorted back to his ship and ordered to return to Sontar, which he is only too glad to do; he is humiliated that he was defeated by "half-forms" (children) and a woman. Sarah Jane is relieved, even if she is not entirely convinced that the Sontaran is gone for good.

Six weeks later, Maria came up to the attic to say goodbye to Mr.Smith and have one last look before she leaves and says her last goodbye to Sarah Jane and Sarah Jane apologies for her reaction when she told her about America because for the for time she found a family and so fast she was losing it and losing the daughter she always wanted Maria asked her will come visit her and she reply of course I will While  getting in taxi  there say their goodbyes to Sarah Jane, Luke, and Clyde,  as they leave for their new life in America. As they go away in the taxi, Chrissie whispers to Sarah Jane that she was not entirely ignorant of her daughter's alien-hunting hobby.

You may be looking for another Maria who moved to America.

Maria Jackson was a teenage girl who lived in 36 Bannerman Road after moving, following the separation of her parents in the 2000s. She assisted Sarah Jane Smith and her friends in combating alien menaces and protecting the Earth from natural threats originating from space. After discovering what her neighbour's life was really like down the street on 13 Bannerman Road, she was the first child who became acquainted with Sarah Jane among what would be come a close-knit group. Maria eventually moved again when her father got a major job offer to work in America, but continually remained in touch with her old gang, even as some of them also left Bannerman Road to pursue their own goals.

Biography[[edit] | [edit source]]

Early life[[edit] | [edit source]]

Maria lived with her parents, Alan and Chrissie Jackson, in a house. While she loved her school, Chrissie thought that Maria's school wasn't a good school, and didn't approve of her friends, believing they were holding Maria back. (PROSE: Invasion of the Bane) Even though Maria loved her mother, she always got on better with her dad. He understood her (PROSE: Revenge of the Slitheen) and she could always depend on him in a crisis. (PROSE: Invasion of the Bane) When Maria was thirteen,[source needed] her parents divorced. (TV: Invasion of the Bane)

Meeting Sarah Jane Smith[[edit] | [edit source]]

Maria spying on Sarah Jane Smith and the Star Poet in Sarah's garden. (TV: Invasion of the Bane)

Adventures with the Bannerman Road gang[[edit] | [edit source]]

Maria hides from a flatulent Slitheen disguised as Mr Jeffery. (TV: Revenge of the Slitheen)

Most of them escaped, though Kist Magg Thek and Florm Rox Fey were killed. (TV: Revenge of the Slitheen)

(TV: Eye of the Gorgon)

Maria helped defeat Uvlavad Kudlak and discovered why children went missing all over the country because they were taken by an H₂O scoop at Combat 3000. She left Earth for the very first time and saw Earth on the Uvodni warship in space with Sarah Jane. (TV: Warriors of Kudlak)

During the Daleks' relocation of Earth to the Medusa Cascade, Maria was staying in Cornwall with her father. Luke called her to check on her. (TV: The Stolen Earth)

Leaving the gang[[edit] | [edit source]]

Maria telling Luke about America. (TV: The Last Sontaran)

Alan later received a letter inviting him to work in America, at the head office of CapitolSys Technologies.

(TV: The Mad Woman in the Attic) Soon after, Maria was invited to Sarah Jane's wedding, but could not attend because she was taking exams. (TV: The Wedding of Sarah Jane Smith)

In September 2010, Maria congratulated Luke, through a webcam conversation, on being accepted to the University of Oxford. He attempted to tell her about the Nightmare Man, but was unable to do so. (TV: The Nightmare Man) Before Luke left, he threw two farewell parties. Maria and Alan couldn't come to his farewell party, but sent holographic postcards which, for Luke, made it seem like they were there. (PROSE: The Nightmare Man)
