apparent that Sirius has been in contact with humanity for a long time. According to George Hunt Williamson (one of the early contactees) in his book "Other Tongues, Other Flesh,"[2] the earth allies of Sirius, i.e., the secret societies, use the Eye of Horus as an insignia. This symbol has also been seen on the MIB. Secret societies believe that there is a Great White Lodge on earth. They call it Shamballa -- and consider it to be the spiritual center of the world. Now, theosophists such as Alice Bailey say that the Great White Lodge is on Sirius. If the All-Seeing-Eye is a symbol of Sirius' earth-allies and the MIB wear that symbol, and if Shamballa represents the Great White Lodge on earth -- then the MIB are emissaries of Shamballa. Sirius and Shamballa are two sides of the same coin. This is verified in the book "The Undiscovered Country,"[3] by Stephen Jenkins. Jenkins was told by Buddhist priests that Shamballa was located in the constellation of Orion.

I deleted the section, as it is not in the Manual of style for the Prose layout. You best bet is to drag it up form the pages history and add what was there to the discontinuity page for it the the discontinuity section in the Howling, or add it to the talk page. :Ditto.  Oh, you may want to know that we've just this weekend updated our archiving templates.  So if you want to make them compatible with the archive tool you can find under this page's edit drop down, just replace all your architecture at the top of the page with the simple template ArchCat.  ON your individual archives, you can replace what you have now with ArchPage.  If you want :)  Note, however, that these templates will continue to be supported and upgraded in the future, whereas the ones you're currently using may be subject to deletion, as they're not compatible with the current automatic archiving system.  Anyway, thanks and good luck at DWA. 18:22:59 Sun&nbsp;04 Sep 2011&nbsp;</span>

I'm unable to leave a message on your user talk page at DW Answers because you have the page sysop locked, for some reason. I know that Answers sites take a lot of fly-by vandalism, but you might want to consider whether it's wise the lead admin to be unreachable by normal talk page communication.  But I digress. To celebrate the clean sweep you're proposing, I've dashed off a new wordmark for you that'll work better with really any background, but especially dark ones.  I created a forum post about it and alerted your other bureaucrats to it.  If you don't like it, I certainly won't be offended if you don't use it.  But a transparent wordmark of some kind would probably be more flexible than the current, white-backgrounded design.

And, not that I'm one of your admins or anything, but your suggestion to just nuke the questions you have and start afresh is a fantastic idea.  However, it might be wise to spend the next week or so getting some policies in order.  Seriously, have you checked out BC's jaw-dropping revisions to the blocking policy?  You might want, also, to have some concrete guidelines for how you'd like questions asked and answered.  What format should the pages in your namespace 0 take?  Give some practical examples of good and bad ways to phrase questions.  Show people whether you want to separate individual answers with horizontal lines, indentation or headings.  Then, after you're sure you've explained the basics, drop the nuclear bomb and regenerate the site. Not really, a Wiki is built on all its editors, I can (and will) go through the Adventure Games articles and create-protect all articles that are red-linked which will prevent IP editors.
Well, this rule has been in place since 7 June 2010.  So I'm pretty sure you've been around since it's been in force.  It's explained pretty exhaustively at T:SPOIL.  But the basic deal is that spoilers are only allowed on the series page and any thread in The Howling.  So, Series 7 (Doctor Who 2005) is the only place for what you put at Doctor Who — and I'm fairly sure the series 7 page already had that.

If you find any recently created articles that have been IP created that you believe are too badly written to make useful mark them for delete, they'll likely be deleted and then created at some later date by editors more fluent with the wiki and its use. --Tangerineduel 14:46, August 27, 2010 (UTC)

Please Check With a Reliable Source Before Putting Down Assumptions
In one of your recent edits, you restored a production error in the episode Vincent and the Doctor regarding the usage of the term "solar system". However, the claim that there is only one solar system is largely unsupported by most academic sources. The term "solar system", though derived from Sol, does not necessarily imply the stellar system with the Sun. In World Book at NASA, the term is used to describe any stellar system (http://www.nasa.gov/worldbook/solarsystem_worldbook_update.html). This practice is largely adopted by many academic researchers, e.g. Artymowicz's article "Beta Pictoris and Other Solar Systems" in the Space Science Reviews, Boss' "Looking for earths : the race to find new solar systems", Taber's "Life in other solar systems", Wilbur K. Brown's "Possible mass distributions in the nebulae of other solar systems" from Earth, Moon, and Planets Volume 37, Number 3. I am quite perplexed as to why you would make such an assumption only based on the etymology of the term. I am certain that some people may choose to use the term to describe exclusively the Solar System, but to claim that using the term "solar system" in way consistent with academic and technical usage as an production error based on your personal belief is largely unjustified, please avoid similar edits. --222.166.181.131 19:23, September 8, 2010 (UTC)

Please do not make edits on subjects in which you don't understand. The term "solar system" has always been used in the sense of describing any stellar system. The terms "planetary system" and "stellar system" used in this sense are quite recent inventions to avoid the ambiguity posed by the word "solar". It would be most inaccurate to say that "solar system" is a colloquial way of referring to a stellar system. Your respond on the talk page of Vincent and the Doctor suggests that you checked with Wikipedia because you are not knowledgeable in the subject. After a brief glimpse, I find the article you refered to as "solar system" is an entry on "the Solar System"; the source in the footnote for the definition of "solar system" on that specific wikipedia article is Merriam-Webster's 11th Collegiate Dictionary, which if you click on it, will direct you to a page that says:
: solar system

: noun
: Definition of SOLAR SYSTEM

: : the sun together with the group of celestial bodies that are held by its attraction and revolve around it; also : a similar system centered on another star

The article makes itself quite clear that it's referring to the Solar System. I am quite confused as to why you would edit something when you acknowledge that you really know what it is. When you make any edit, please make sure you have a clear understanding of the subject concerned and the edit would not be based on anecdotal knowledge or assumptions. Thank you.--203.168.176.42 23:08, September 8, 2010 (UTC)

Honestly some of the people on here, everything has to be done to an exact way, you lot are like Terminators or Cybermen or Daleks.

If editing someones user page is considered vandalism how comes you can edit their page in the first place?

Completely devoid of emotion or desire. Ive added the pictures again but THIS TIME ive added better detail and I think now they add stuff to the article. Is this OK?

Well. Seems OK I suppost, I did'nt mean to offend anyone, but sometimes it does seem like this wiki is run by people who dont even like Doctor Who, you and other users seem to be, not saying this is true but, you all seem to be like machines, who need Doctor Who as fuel, and your mission is to create a detailed encyclopedia of it and making it as boring and uninteresting as possibly, as well as picking on users you dont like. But you're probably not like that at all so I wont say it again.

DW Answers wordmarkedit

In other words, absolutely get rid of those 5000+ pages, but have a clear set of guidelines for how the site is going to run.

Or at least, that's how I'd do it. Your milage could indeed vary.

Christmas cheeredit

Happy holidays!

As this fiftieth anniversary year comes to a close, we here at Tardis just want to thank you for being a part of our community — even if you haven't edited here in a while. If you have edited with us this year, then thanks for all your hard work.

This year has seen an impressive amount of growth. We've added about 11,000 pages this year, which is frankly incredible for a wiki this big. November was predictably one of the busiest months we've ever had: over 500 unique editors pitched in. It was the highest number of editors in wiki history for a year in which only one programme in the DWU was active. And our viewing stats have been through the roof. We've averaged well over 2 million page views each week for the last two months, with some weeks seeing over 4 million views!

We've received an unprecedented level of support from Wikia Staff, resulting in all sorts of new goodies and productive new relationships. And we've recently decided to lift almost every block we've ever made so as to allow most everyone a second chance to be part of our community.

2014 promises to build on this year's foundations, especially since we've got a full, unbroken series coming up — something that hasn't happened since 2011. We hope you'll stick with us — or return to the Tardis — so that you can be a part of the fun!
