Behind the scenes[[edit] | [edit source]]
- The original 1965 serial The Chase does not identify Microsoft as the maker of the robots — indeed the company wasn't even established for another decade. This was later subject to a retcon in the aforementioned novel.
- In the real world, Microsoft manufactured the Xbox, and released Windows Vista and Windows 7. These links, however, have yet to be made within the DWU.
- Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook also exist in the DWU, but no connection has been made in-universe to Microsoft or to the Microsoft Office suite, to which they belong.
- An illustration of the TARDIS and the Fourth Doctor's scarf was used to promote Doctor Who's 60th anniversary on Windows computers on 23 November 2023.
